4 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Miss Dum Laga Ke Haisha!

After watching a frustratingly slow and torturous movie like Roy, I had almost lost hopes of finding a story in a Bollywood movie..
And being away from my blogs for almost one year, I had been thinking that I've become too lazy to write something..
And then I watched a movie that made me smile genuinely..I mean, I felt like writing about it from the bottom of my heart..Before I start writing about it, let me tell you, this is more than just a movie review..

1. Beauty is Simplicity

90s' plot, cassettes, Kumar Sanu's voice, land line phones and missed calls..what else could you ask for nostalgia? This movie is all about small, sweet and simple things that would make you smile..It covers the minutest details of the characters, their lifestyles, their circumstances, their mindsets..
You do not always need a hot couple or a perfect cinematography for a romantic flick. The song "Ye moh moh ke dhaage" is simply bound to make you fall in love with the movie..

2. Bhumi Pednekar as Sandhya

You may call her fat, or you may say that she played the role of a fatso..but she was a real beauty..Sandhya was perfectly confident..And as I say, beauty is confidence, confidence is beauty..She loved herself and knew that she deserved to be loved..She was from a conservative family, but she did not succumb to the family pressure of being a part of a love-less, lifeless marriage..She valued her dreams, her aspirations, her dignity..
Hats off to Bhumi for being Sandhya, for performing with an effortless ease..

3. Marriage is not an event, it is a Journey..

Talk to a random girl in India who is about to get married..She'll talk about a Lehenga that costs more than 50k, jewels, accessories and make-up..I find it totally ridiculous when people tell me that I should marry before I turn 25, varna face ka glow chala jayega, dulhan wali baat nahi rahegi..
Talk to a random parent in India who is looking for an ideal bride or a groom.. They'll talk about a decent job, decent looks, decent family background..and yes, cliched though it may sound.."Jodi achchhi lagni chahiye"

Really??? So you think marriage is all about a perfectly beautiful bride, a grand event, ceremonies and two individuals who look good together? Why is it so important for a bride to look young or pretty or slim? Moreover, what would go wrong if jodi achcchi na lage? Are you buying a product with specific dimensions, features and configurations? No.

Having said that, the movie talks about romance which is not only unconventional for Bollywood, but also unconventional for people like me and you, and that's the best part..

4. Accepting Imperfections

A not-so-good-looking girl with a not-so-educated, good-for-nothing-types guy..
But the movie doesn't preach about compromising, compromise for family or for marriage..

The story talks of giving time, forgiving for mistakes and accepting whatever seemed to be imperfect in the beginning.. As I always say, the first postulate of love is acceptance..If you aren't able to accept someone for who he is, you aren't in love, you have never been in love with the person..
For when you are in love, you accept all imperfections happily..Togetherness gives you immense support..

Overall, Dum Laga Ke Haisha is a cute movie that makes you feel good and makes you smile..

Rating : ***1/2

P.S.
1. Ayushmaan Khurrana looks cute as Lappu ! :-D
2.Writing a blog after a long long break of 360 days feels awesome !
3. Planning to write more movie reviews..

Mumbai Weekends : Keep Walking

Reminiscing the year 2013, I can't stop thinking about the way the year marked the beginning of a completely new phase - a new job with a totally unexpected job profile, all the great people I met and goes without saying, the city that has been the pivot of all my fascination, introspection and reverie - Mumbai.

Like all other Delhiites, even I had my own reasons to dislike a hell lot of things about Mumbai..But then, the year 2013 gave me many unforgettable moments, cognizance of my own desires. And amidst the plethora of emotions, amidst the changes and phases, I started liking this city for a really weird reason..They say that Mumbai never sleeps, I say that Mumbai never stops..
The people of Mumbai always happen to inspire me. I was amazed at the way the hopelessly heavy rains never seemed to stop them. I love the cosmopolitan culture and the zeal that Mumbaikars have for each and every festival. I like the way they travel in local trains, standing at the gate and enjoying the wind.

This city taught me to be fearless, to set myself free when I needed it the most. I met the best of the people in my life when I was at my worst. Its beaches gave me tranquility whenever I was anxious. I felt surrounded by a cobweb of uncertainties, but as they say, "you may be lost in ways more than one, but I've a feeling that sometimes it is better than knowing exactly where you are."

The crux is that nothing should stop you. Life is like a long sexy road..And to keep driving on it, keep enjoying the beauty, with open windows and soothing music, must be its only purpose. You stop, you worry about the traffic, you feel afraid of accidents, you keep thinking about the road gone or the road ahead and you're gone, you're screwed.

When you feel afraid of your own desires, when the only way out seems to be forbearance and detachment, you never really understand how destiny has its own secret plans to introduce you to someone who would take you to who you really are and make you fall in love with yourself, in spite of your imperfections all over again, in such a manner that your past, your apprehensions and fears would become totally insignificant. Never regret anything at all that ever made you happy, for one day, you would be able to connect all dots and smile. The key is to keep hoping, even when everything is uncertain..keep thanking those who are with you, keep smiling even when nothing seems to be right ..keep forgiving, for your own peace..keep loving, for love gives you strength to have faith beyond all insecurities and apprehensions..keep walking, with no restrictions and no regrets!

Mumbai has been a new chapter for me, a new life with so many life lessons, and a change.. a change that taught me something, Keep Walking !!

Cheers!!

I had written this poem while I was waiting for some answers, trying to deal with uncertainty, for its funny how the unknown, the uncertain is often the reason behind so many human emotions- Curiosity, anxiety, excitement, worry, fear, insecurity and in most of the cases a combination of all these !
Now that I'm posting this poem, ..I feel that while a new journey is about to begin, you should go with the flow, let your heart guide you, let your faith support you, let the fear of uncertainty turn into excitement and zeal..
Uncertainty (be aetbaari ) in life does exist even now, but so does the patience to wait and the hope, the belief that whatever will happen, would be for the better !!

Cheers!

Still Blaming Your Life n Luck??

Before I commence with the post, let me share a quote..

"Happy moments, praise God.. Difficult moments, seek God.. Quiet moments, worship God.. Painful moments, trust God..Every Moment, Thank God.."
This is a very popular quote, with around 300k likes on facebook..You all might say that you like it, but then, ask yourself, why do we blame our life and luck for every small thing that goes wrong? Even if you are an atheist, even if you think that the entire concept of the existence of God is pointless and illogical, simply ask yourself,  "Am I not lucky? Why shouldn't I thank goodness, thank my stars for being happy? And if you do not believe in destiny or luck, if you believe in karma, why do you conclude that your life isn't good when things don't go your way?"

I had written a 55 fiction blog with the same title once, and a discussion about "people with mental and physical disabilities" made me feel that I am not only lucky, I am blessed, blessed with life and liveliness, and here is a list of reasons why I feel so :
  • While I can enjoy the luxury of sitting in an air-conditioned room and writing a blog, there are many kids who would never be able to read or write, not because they are underprivileged, but because they cannot even sit or talk or listen, because they were born with an incurable physical deformity..
  • While I admire nature and its beauty, while I enjoy looking at the moon, the sky, the rains, there are hundreds of blind men and women, who cannot experience the same..
  • While we all talk of women and their rights, there are some mentally challenged girls who are molested, raped by their own relatives and unfortunately, in cases where they become pregnant, they are blamed and disowned by the families..They are thrown into mental hospitals and shelter homes so that they can survive somehow and those inhuman criminals who abused them continue to live freely..
  • While we crib about breakups, lost friendships and misunderstandings, there are many kids who need artificial limbs to survive, people who look really ugly or unusual because of horrible, rare diseases and as far as the mentally sick kids are concerned, they are actually treated as a threat, as a danger, people feel afraid of them..Observe how their mothers cry looking at their faces, and you'll realize, being a normal kid is being lucky in itself..
  • While I write blogs/read novels/watch movies about life and philosophy, there are hundreds for whom, surviving itself is a struggle..hundreds who are going through a lifeless life, in such a critical state that their own family members pray for their death..Imagining what they go through, scares the hell out of me..
And when you read this blog, please don't feel pity for all these people..People with physical or mental disabilities need your love, care, affection and support..You need not sympathize, but you ought to empathize..The next time you see a pregnant teenager, for God's sake do not call her a slut, she could be a rape victim..The next time you see a child with a disability, instead of feeling pity for him, feeling scared or sad, go and play with him, or simply give him/her a hug!
I have decided that I will celebrate every special occasion of my life, every festival distributing sweets and toys to kids in orphanages and asylums.. Mind you, this is not social service, this is for my own contentment..Believe me when I say this, the biggest source of happiness is to know that you are the reason behind someone's smiles..

Now, the main purpose of writing this blog is to make myself and others realize that no matter how tough situations may be, at every point of time, we ought to know that self-pity is absolutely useless and cursing our life or luck solves no purpose other than making us weaker..Here goes a second list, a list of people who can always inspire you :

  • Nick Vujicic, the famous preacher and motivational speaker who was born with no legs and no arms wrote a book called "Life Without Limits".. He is an inspiration for millions today, I actually wanted to write a complete blog about him..these words by him, say it all, “I believe in a God who can do all things, but if He chooses not to give me arms and legs, I know it's for the better. And I may not understand it, but all I need to know is that He's going to carry me through, that there is a purpose for it.”
  • Sudha Chandran, Natalia Patryka, Helen Keller, Stephen Hawking.. these names do not need any introduction, even they had an obstacle of a deformity, a disability..yet they achieved what people with perfect health aren't able to..
  • A blind girl works at my dad's office..She is a great singer, so lively, so bubbly, so sanguine that its almost unbelievable for everyone..All of us meet such people, you may feel pity for the hardships they face, you may feel inspired by their spirit, choice is yours !!
And to sum up, this is what the year 2012 has taught me, sharing an old status update here :

Above sadness and happiness, there exists a virtue of goodness, governed by acceptance and patience..People walk away because whenever someone leaves, someone else is about to arrive..You feel hurt so that you can learn to let go, people do not put in efforts to get you back so that you can experience that your life is equally beautiful without them..You fail to crack an exam because someone else had worked harder than you, and if you had actually struggled, you would get more than what you expect,in some way or the other,unexpectedly..Your family members face serious health problems so that you can realize the importance of faith in God..No matter what you go through, you are definitely doing better than many others, and therefore, there must be no space for self-pity in your life..After every tough phase, you would see how perfectly and beautifully life moves on.. And there's one n only one style that's perfect, that style is to smile, to smile and be thankful to God, to your parents, to everyone who ever made you smile, to smile and live every moment to the fullest, to smile and celebrate life!

Cheers !!

Love Yourself !!

You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.
- Buddha

This is, perhaps, one of the most popular quotes I've ever read..The reason why I quoted this, before starting with the blog, is the fact that I always found it kinda obvious, something that goes without saying..Every individual does love himself..Why did Buddha have to preach that after all?

Mother Teresa had said, "There is more hunger for love and appreciation in this world than for bread" .. Absolutely true, but we all talk of seeking love from others, loving others, caring for others, and we often tend to forget how important loving ourselves is..
How can you expect others to love you when you don't even love yourself? How can you even think of making someone happy when you aren't happy being the person you are? How can you love others when you cannot even love yourself? How can you think of achieving something when you keep on blaming your luck?

I have seen many people who tend to avoid the whole world when they are sad..They do not even talk to the closest of their friends who wish to listen to them and help them out.. No, they do not have any intentions to disrespect or ignore people who care for them..but it is the lack of "self-love" in them, that makes it difficult for them to accept love, care and affection by others..They feel guilty, they start despising themselves, they feel that they do not deserve all those who care so much for them, they start avoiding them again and the cycle continues..

Everyone says, "The first postulate of love is sacrifice" .. I disagree.. The first postulate of love is "acceptance"... You cannot love a person unless you accept him for who he really is.. If you keep on searching for perfection, if you keep on searching for qualities, you won't ever find true love..
In the same way, you can't love yourself unless you accept yourself as a person..We often feel jealous of others..We often wish to be popular, we often seek attention..Many of us suffer from inferiority complex.. And sometimes, while trying to impress others, we stop being who we are, we tend to change ourselves, not because we want those changes, but because we think of becoming a more lovable and likable person in someone else's eyes.. Once again, we forget self-acceptance, self-love and self-respect !

I always say that I believe that I am an awesome person and I love myself the way I am.. A friend had once said to me, "Saying that 'I'm crazy, I'm awesome' again and again does not mean that you are happy..It rather means that you are so hollow a person that you are filling it on your own in a futile attempt to be happier"

For all those people who feel that his words hold true, I wish to say that saying that I'm awesome does not mean that I feel I'm a perfect person..There are endless flaws in me..I know that I act hopelessly dumb at times, I am brutally blunt, honest and straightforward and often speak without thinking.. I have that irritating habit of getting into the minutest details of every damn topic while I talk.. I apologize much more than what is actually required..In spite of being an intelligent and sensible person, I am extremely crazy and childish..

But,I say that I'm an awesome human being, for I am a true person, I say whatever I feel is true, I portray whatever I genuinely am.. If at all I happen to care for a person, I would give my best shot to cheer him up, I would do anything it takes to make a close friend happy.. I value each and every person who has been good to me..I have been really great a person to a lot of self-obsessed and frustrated people and my care for them was rarely reciprocated, I don't give a damn to
them..in fact, I still have faith in friendship, relationships, people and destiny..
Saying that you are awesome does not necessarily mean that you are doing so in an attempt to be happy.. Yes, believing that you are amazing, pampering yourself, flattering yourself can act as stress busters for sure... But, accepting yourself is the first step towards self-love.. Self-love does not always make you happy, for there are things that aren't there in your hands, but it always gives you strength.. It helps you to make sure that you do not become a pessimist, that you do not try to escape and that you do not waste your time being sad for people who are not worth your tears!!

Learn to love yourself, for you are the only person who will always be there for you, throughout the journey of your life.. Self-love is a life-long romance !!
Love yourself, you will fall in love with your life and the world will fall in love with you !!

This blog is dedicated to three guys :-

ZENDAGI MIGZARA (Life Goes On) - Part 2

[As I say, the best words by Khaled Hosseini after 'For you, a thousand times over' are 'Zendagi Migzara' (Life Goes On)..
The last time when I had written a blog with the same title, it was meant for people who think way too much about the future, with fear in their minds and hearts..This post, talks about different situations, that are faced by many, but it comes up with the same message, the most beautiful thing about life is, that, it moves on..]

Well, read the following lines, and think of those situations when you feel that these are absolutely true..
'Life is a bitch..for the moment you realize you've learnt how to live, it changes completely, for whenever you experience real happiness, it snatches all the reasons behind your happiness'

We feel so whenever we fail to achieve something that we wanted badly, we feel so whenever we lose someone close to us..We feel so whenever we face a tragedy in life.. As I say, nothing at all is predictable.. life is always unexpected.. A single episode can be a turning point for you, it can change your life completely..No matter what, you cannot alter what destiny has in store for you..
As they say, experience is a hard teacher for it gives the test first and the lesson later.. One feels devastated and frustrated in such situations..One forgets optimism, one forgets conscience.. Patience and acceptance are the only two things you can think of as the feasible solutions..Well, as most of us know, the one n only thing that can heal, that always heals is time.. We ought to give time time..

Now, the fact that life always goes on no matter what, does not mean that life gives you second chances..Life is a wicked bitch again..We are only given today and never promised tomorrow.. Every little thing that makes you smile is precious in its own way, every moment that makes you feel special is special in itself.. Every person who does something to make you happy, who feels worried when you are sad, deserves that love n your care from you the same way..If you wish to express your feelings to someone, do it today itself, for tomorrow, you might not get a chance to be with that loving person, to enjoy those special moments n those precious smiles..

Yes, life is long for it goes on n on n on.. for it comes up with endless experiences, countless people, uncountable tears and uncountable smiles...but then, at the same time, life is very short, because when you look back, all you can recall is those 'turning points'.. Life can be considered as a summation of all those episodes, all those changes.. Think of it once, if you're not accepting those changes, you're not accepting your life, you're merely escaping..

When one thinks of his past after a long time, these changes do not matter.. for he had been strong enough to face the tragedies, for he had cried and even his tears had dried on their
own.. for he had learnt how to live, and with the passage of time, he had moved on, just the way life always moves on.. Ultimately, its only happiness that one can think of n recall.. Happiness is recursive, one finds happiness in happy memories..over and over again..

Well, I just wrote this blog to dedicate a message to all those people, who think of running away and escaping from life, who spoil their present for what their past had been, who curse life for the sad phases..

' Life is a mixed bag.. Steal all those moments that make you happy.. Make sure you find people who truly love you, and never let them go away.. No matter how badly it tests your patience, no matter how wicked it may become at times, life does move on.. It might not give you another chances.. but it gives you new reasons to be happy, new people to meet, new experiences to enjoy'

I started this blog with the sentence, 'Life is a bitch'... I feel like putting an end to it by saying.. no matter how hard, no matter how wicked it may seem.. Accept it the way it is, make the most of it today, live it, love it, enjoy it, celebrate it and face it !!

I am in love with Prasoon Joshi's lines, "hai ye toh ik jashan, tu thirakne de kadam.. abhi saanson me hai dum, abhi chalne de sitam" .. for I do know that destiny has a role to play in all walks of life..but these lines make me feel, I can face all challenges, I can conquer all fears.. and the mere feeling makes me wanna say, "Life is... actually... beautiful"

That Beautifully Weird Thing Called Love - Part II

This is a sequel to the last post, although it talks about an absolutely different aspect of that beautiful yet weird thing called love...all new readers should read the previous post first..
Arnav was waiting for the most unforgettable moment of his life, at the farewell party for the 2008 batch at FMS.. All his classmates were enjoying themselves, talking to each other, exchanging parting gifts, but he was standing all alone, still waiting for Sneha, and thinking about what he would say, how he would say it..He had recalled the dream at least a hundred times, the way she had said, 'Of course I love you too dumbo !'.. Somehow he felt that she had been much better than him so far, that she liked him, admired him and loved him much more than what he deserved..He wanted to tell her everything..tell her about the way he himself didnt realize how much he loved her, tell her that he could not imagine his life without her now..
He was waiting for her, but Sneha was nowhere to be seen..He kept on calling her, but she did not even pick up his phone calls..He called at her home, she had left long back.. Now he was getting nervous, restless and worried at the same time.. Someone like Sneha could never be late for a farewell party...
Finally, after two hours, she arrived at the party, wearing a black sari, exactly similar to his dream..Arnav simply could not wait to talk to her...
"Hey, you look beautiful in black.."
"Thanks Arnav.. "
"But where were you.. and you were not even picking up my calls.."
Words could not express Sneha's excitement and happiness at that moment..As always, out of excitement, she did not even listen to Arnav and started talking...
"Arnav, I need to tell you something... You know, I met Kartik today.. He had called me yesterday..I mean, it was like...."
This was like a huge shock to Arnav.. Kartik was a guy she had a crush on when she was a first year student at her engineering college and she had put an official end to their friendship because of the fact that he was a self-obsessed, inconsiderate guy who always took her for granted..How could he be back after five years..and how the hell could Sneha be happy about it..Arnav wanted to ask all these questions, but all he could say was..
"Sneha, I don't get this..You had told me that you had stopped talking to him because he was not worthy of your respect, that he never deserved being your friend...So..."
"Yes..I had been selfish then...I never tried to understand what he had gone through..Even though he had been rude, he had ignored me badly.. I could have given him another chance.. You can't imagine how much I had missed him, I tried to convince myself that I have moved on..I tried to forgive him, but somehow I could not even forgive myself.. "
"Sneha, for God's sake, why do you need to forgive yourself.. Remember you had once told me, 'You can be happy with a person you don't love but you can never be happy with a person you don't respect'.."
" You know, I had never lost my respect for him..Whatever I said was out of anger and frustration, I always expected a lot from him and never tried to understand him..I feel guilty for the same.. Five years back, I let him go...I let him go because it was required..but now I feel that I have to be there for him... Err, maybe you won't get it,Arnav.. probably because you have never gone through such a phase, you've never been in love.."
"You need to be practical... Think about it, what if he repeats the same, and you say I don't understand you because I have never been in love?"
" Listen, Arnav, I am sorry, I know I shouldn't have said that.. but you know, you cannot imagine what he means to me, so what if he brought some tears into my life, so what if I had to spend a phase of my life being really sad..His presence, the fact that I met him, those memories.. everything makes me happy...You know what, two people who are meant to be together, meet towards the end no matter what..We misunderstood each other, we fought, we broke up,but eventually, we realized that destiny...."
" How can you be so concerned for a guy who never cared about you, Sneha?"
" You don't love people if they love you too..True love is unconditional..Love cannot be selfish, Arnav...There is no reciprocation, no retaliation in it..."
Arnav did not get how to react, he did not know what to say.. He simply wanted to forget the whole conversation, to forget what Sneha said and to take his own words back.. He wanted to escape and get rid of it.. All of a sudden, a classmate called them for a group photograph, Arnav was least interested, but he did not have any other option.. Sneha started talking to other friends and classmates around..Arnav decided to go away, to leave that place.. It was one of the most unforgettable days of his life indeed, but not at all similar to what he had expected...
He couldn't stop thinking about it... the way Sneha had said, 'probably you won't get it because you've never been in love'..the way he wished to express himself at least once...the way he imagined what Sneha would have decided if he had told her all this last year...Things could be different then... And then, would he get to talk to her that often..He could not sleep that night...

A page from Arnav's diary, that was full of pages about Sneha, her talks, days spent with her... Arnav wrote :
" Life comes up with weird phases... Till now, it used to revolve around Sneha... From now on, Sneha's life would revolve around someone else...I really don't know how to describe how it feels..I did call her ..I wanted to apologize for what I had said, but then I decided against it.. I told Sneha that I was happy for her, that I had complete faith in her decisions and I hoped that she would be happy forever...She was about to cry...She told me she would always miss me..Once again, I could not express myself...
Am I happy or am I sad? Probably it does not matter at the moment..I don't know how I could not notice her eyes, her smile, her happiness.. as if everything was telling me how much she loved Kartik...they were destined to be together for sure...
Sneha is right...We don't love people because they love us too.. It is the only feeling that goes on without any reciprocation..Sometimes, love is not about being happy with someone, sometimes its all about watching her go away from you and being happier for her happiness...
I thought that it would be difficult to move on, but today, something made me realize that there is no such thing called moving on.. She will always be a part of my life, even if I'm not in her life... Yes, I feel her presence even when she is not around me..She will always be there for me, through her unforgettable talks, through her philosophies...How can I ever forget whatever she has done for me...
I just realized what she had said, so what if love brings a few tears into your life, it gives you a reason to smile for a lifetime..It asks you no questions, it has no reasons, but it gives you endless support...
That support, that care, those life lessons, that friendship and that beautifully weird feeling called love, it was all a part of my destiny.. Thanks to a crazy girl called Sneha, unknowingly, she had taught me what friendship means, what true love is and above all how to live life !!

Two years later...
Arnav was a successful popular author now... His first novel was a work of fiction and of course was a huge hit...
His second novel was titled 'That Beautifully Weird Thing Called Love'... The very first page said, dedicated to my best friend Sneha, who made me believe I would be a great author one day..

P.S.

1. I was really happy to see that great response for Part-1.. I don't know how you all would react, but this is what I wanted to express through fiction, love is beautiful... be in love with it !!
2. On popular demand, Life In A Metro - Part 2, regarding the women only Coach... coming soon..
3. This stupid message is exclusively for Shanks....Mujhe pata hai tu kahega, kahani poori filmi hai, par kahani filmy tab hoti jab Sneha apni shaadi k mandap se uth ke bhaag k Arnav ke book k release pe pahunch jati ;)

ZENDAGI MIGZARA (Life Goes On)

The best lines by Khaled Hosseini after 'For you, a thousand times over'... Zendagi Migzara.. so true!!

Its funny how everyday we follow almost the same routine,we think about similar stuff, we use words like 'monotony' n 'boredom' to describe our daily lives, we want some adventure, some fun n above all, some changes.. yet when we look back after a few years, everything is different..Sometimes I feel that life is actually a series of transformations..every other phase in your life comes up with something new, with a transformation in you, in your circumstances.. People come n go, things change, we move on through both good n bad phases n life goes on..With this, I should start with this blog..

Part-1

Two years back, just two years back............

She used to be a Daddy's good girl after passing out from school... Now she feels she is ready to face the whole world, having realized its impossible to survive being a naive, innocent person...
She used to wonder why people talk so much about terms like personal life, unofficial breakups, love hate relationships n all, because they never made any sense to her.. Now she can actually write both fiction n non-fiction blogs about the same, she is bored of advising n number of people and as a matter of fact, some of them actually call her 'Love Guru'...
It took her two days to understand the route from her home to college.. Now, she often hangs out with her friends and has explored places in both Delhi and Noida her parents haven't even heard about..
She was completely tomboyish, used to think that kaajal and maskara are synonymous words, and never had a clue about words like danglers,crimping,tic-tacs,and used to wonder why girls spend money on weird accessories.. She still hates to be girlie, but she has started thinking a bit about her looks, she likes to experiment with her hairstyle once in a while ,she loves it when people around her say she looks good..
She was an ideal student at school, sincere and hardworking... Now, she initiates mass bunks, studies for minors just a week before, thinks of new ideas for farrebaazi..

.......... And she is the writer of this blog, a girl who was, is and will always be crazy.. Right now, while writing this random blog, she knows that every person of her age must be able to relate to this..She is thinking of the way how she is just the same and yet, so very diferent..the way she faced weird situations that she could have never even imagined two years back.. the way she has learnt to accept, to forgive and to move on.. and the way she realized that life goes on... and above all the way she realized the beauty of the lines " Shayad bhagwan shagwan naam ka item waqai me hai jo ultimately sab kuch set kar deta hai.. " ( This line actually summarizes all her experiences)

Part-2

The next two years.....

Being a third year engineering student, I always see confused faces around me.. Almost every other person talks only and only about future plans, entrances, career options, jobs, placements and everything related to his future..
Sick and bored of hearing the lines " Kahaan phas gaye yaar.. pata nahi kya hoga hamara..."
It was just a month back when even I was kinda worried ,and a close friend said..." Look, you haven't lost your decision making ability..Dont think so much about your career or your future..Dont worry.. Just explore all options...Some day, something great will strike to you, once you take a decision, start working, be focussed and trust me, you'll rock !"
We all have this tendency to think a lot about future..we become addicted to it in a way, we keep on thinking about it all the time.. We day dream, we over think, we over analyse and ultimately the result of useless analysis and useless thinking is- more confusion, more anxiety, more worries, more tension.......

At the end, no matter what, in spite of all the hardships, in spite of all the terrible tough phases, life will move on, as the Afghans say, zendagi migzara..
Part 3
The Present
Ultimately..Koi na jaane apna future kya hoga...then why the hell do we need to think of it.... All I know is that, two years later, my life would be different, with new people, new faces, new places.. As of now, I am already into a new phase, really excited and enthusiastic, ready to work upon things and devote time to myself.....thats it
I am listening to my heart, I feel that, wherever I'll go, whatever I'll do, I'll give it my best shot..
P.S. This is a random blog, written without any planning, in simple words.... This is just an attempt to express what I feel.... and finally its dedicated to all those people who dont enjoy their lives being worried about the future... Live in your present.. Love yourself.. Love people around you.. Love your life!!!

MY THIRD SEMESTER

Third semester has been the most interesting, the most special semester so far. It was definitely full of ups n downs, but I really dont want to classify it as good or bad. This blog is just a small description of whatever I learnt, felt, realised n enjoyed in this sem.I hope most of you would be able to relate to it.Here it goes..

ACCEPT LIFE AS IT COMES :Experience is a hard teacher, it gives the test first n the lesson later. The very first day of the semester started with a shock.. Second sem's result was out n i had a very good overall percentage with a back.. Thanks a tonne to Rohan Anand,Neha Mehra, Virangana, Anmol, Shreya n all my family members..who had supported me n encouraged me then..Many of us keep on analysin things.. Why did this happen.. How could this happen..In fact I also had that bad habit of classifyin things as good or bad, right or wrong, positive or negative... I used to keep thinking n thinking without coming to a conclusion ..In Bade Bhaiya's words " Differentiate karte ja rahe ho, karte ja rahe ho, integrate karna hi bhool jate ho".... well I really don know whether it was because of reading a few good books or watchin WUS, or simply thinking of Bade Bhaiya's classes, but I finally realised that changes must be accepted ..Now I really don advise my friends to look at the positive aspect of everythin, instead things must be accepted the way they are.Accept that you have a back n you've to reappear, accept that the person whom you like doesnt like you the same way or is already committed to someone else... Just accept changes, get rid of the Hows,Whys n Ifs n move ahead..Move ahead with hope n faith.. Have faith that your hard work will eventually pay, hope that time would heal everything. Finally one of my favourite lines among Bade Bhaiya's words of wisdom..."Best reaction is no reaction."One should always remember that.

LOVE YOUR FRIENDS TRULY : It was after coming to college that I realised the importance of friendship..n it was in this semester that I felt that I am a very lucky person.. I like almost everythin n people around me love me the same way too.. With this blog, I'm dedicating some messages to some special friends...

My School Friends Megha, Menaka, Pranati, Aakriti, Kshipra, Eshan, Abhishek, Anubha,Heena : Would never be able to forget you all..Meg :You are one of the very few people who know me n understand me well.. Thanks for being such a wonderful friend n always be the way you are.Menaka: Tujhse zyada pange koi nahi le sakta mujhse.. Keep up the good work..Paro : please come back to Delhi soon, I miss u..Eshan : You say that I am your mentor, guide n best freind.I have another advice for you.Never underestimate yourself.

Now The IGITians.. Well I had never even imagined that I would be so happy in a girls' college. All the girls here are really cool, intelligent n above all great friends..The one n only thing that I dislike is the confusion of names... You see, there are 6 Nehas,2 Ankitas, 2 Preetis,2 Priyankas in MAE itself n the so many other Nehas,Ankitas n Swatis in the other branches...God! Anyways, MAE 08 simply rocks...
Neha Aggarwal n Radhika : Thanks for being such patient listeners to all my bakwaas philosophies, wierd lectures , stories n experiences n stupid arbit stuff :D Richa, Prerna, Neha Mehra : Had great fun hanging out, chilling out n gossiping with you, feels great to be ur friend..Litsi : Dekh tere liye alag se special wala message hai.. Yar I really enjoyed talkin n gossiin with you in metro..M gonna miss u badly once the green line starts.. Isha,Tanya,Shreya,Viru,Apeksha,Madhuri,Sunaina : The sincere n studious people .. It was all because of you that I studied properly in this semester..,Nimisha n Ayushi : Your Pjs are ultimate... Ayushi you are a champ, n Nimisha u r a perfect all rounder.. Sonal n Sakshi : Keep laughing the same way n make others laugh too.. Apoorvi, Priyanka, Pallavi : Your time management is excellent.. Keep it up.. Shweta n Tanya : though the vivas sucked in this sem , enjoyed performing practicals with you..Swati, Divya, Aro, Uma : We miss u. Neha Goel n Richa : Welcome back. Hats off to you for your patience. In spite of the tortures by the #%%&&@ admin ppl, u performed so well in this sem, hats off!! Sanauwer: the 'sonhi kudi' of our class.. hair stylist ban ja yar...:P all the hostel people, Sanauwer, Viru, Sunaina, Babita, Ritika, Preeti, Shipra, Priyanka,Meenu,Sarika : On behalf of all the day scholars, thanks a bunch for your help everytime :) Prashasti: just one thing to say- Einstein, Einstein, Einstein, Einstein ... he he he Kriti: You are the one n only person I am sayin sorry to.. I promise I'll try n be a patient listener in future..Cheers!
The people I met at VMC -Shanshank,Ankur,Snehil,Sugandha,Akanksha,Somya,Abhishek, Kaushik,Ashima,Shelly,Deepshikha,Mridu,Ankur Khurana, Nikunj,Sanchee,Namita,Rohan... all of you simply rock..have learnt alot from most of you.. there is something special, something different about the VM ppl that cant be described in words...there cannot be a better group of students than REG-2, n of course there cannot be better teachers than the ones at VMC,I still miss all those classes ..

KASHMERE GATE CAMPUS IS SIMPLY AWESOME : Its not only about the metro connectivity.. there's much more to this USS n IGIT campus.. You get to interact with people from so many courses (law, chemical engineering, bio tech, mass comm, architecture, MBA n what not )... It was all because of the guys from these colleges that I didnt even realise that I am studying in a girls college ... The Anti Fee Hike Strike in September worked, thanks to the USS guys.. It was in this semester that I realised that all law guys are not silly chain smokers.. some of them are really intelligent, experts at GDs.. All USITians arent just geeks or despos, some of them are really cool... I like everything here.. Handa Cafeteria, the labs, Girls Common Room, sitting on the wall opposite mech block.. looking at the monkeys climbing the trees with their kids on their back, sitting in the park or simply roaming around.. M glad that the campus colleges arent shifting to Dwarka in the 4th sem..

PROUD TO BE A MECHANICAL ENGINEER: And the award for the most hectic semester so far goes to , the third sem undoubtedly..attended so many classes, got so many books issued from the library, n for the first time ,learnt to hide books too :D. Our daily routine was something like - breakfast at 12, lunch at 6 pm n no dinner at all.. n in the month of november we were loaded with md sheets, vivas n assignments.. though I missed maths in this sem, I enjoyed all our core subjects, thermodynamics in particular,, fluid mech was the easiest..may god bless R.K Bansal for writing such a good book..though the viva was really bad, I thoroughly enjoyed Machine Design.. Yes, MAE isnt easy.. particularly coz of the @@###%% univ ppl...but its really cool, ultimately interesting..Well, I used to hate those people who used to say that MAE isnt suitable for girls, now I feel like killing them, really!!

FRESHERS 2009 : This was the best day of the entire semester. First of all kudos to Surbhi,Apeksha,Ankita and Sushumna for organising it.It was for the first time that I had anchored an event.Comparing is fun.. Though I wasnt as good as Elisha Chauhan (she is just perfect) but people liked me. I felt really happy when not only my classmates but also some juniors n some guys from other colleges said that i was really good. Finally I discovered something that I am good at, am confident about n I enjoy doing.Mehra,Litsi, Radhika, Priyanka, Tanya Your performance was really good, had enjoyed your practice sessions even more.. N then, the fachchas were much better than my expectations.

KAMINAPAN: This has got nothing to do with the movie Kaminey.I still havent watched it. Its just that one always comes across some very selfish, mean, haughty , gire hue ###@@$$ people. You cannot survive if you are a naive, gullible n very sweet types Daddy's good girl..Moral :" Har insan k andar kaminapan hota hai, apne andar k kaminey ko jagao.. kyunki pagalpanti k sath sath kaminapanti bhi zaruri hai"

At the end, just one more thing... always remember Love Aaj Kal ka dialogue "Shayad bhagwan shagwan naam ka item waqai me hai jo ultimately sab kuch set kar deta hai." I learnt to thank God for all those smiles instead of complainin bout the tears.. Life is really really Sexy... Enjoy!!
